I'll start us off on this one...
My Slight Brush Was With Comedian George Carlin
I have had a few brushes with fame when it came to managing bands in LA in the 90's but the one that I had with a comedian, happened to be George Carlin. Being from Bar Harbor Maine, it isn't hard to run into a famous person just walking down the street. Maine people do not bother to get star struck because no one any better that the next to us, they just have it better.
Anyways, I was just crossing the street to get to the other side (as the joke goes) and George Carlin just happened to be crossing from the other way. He saw me make eye contact and have that look of, "Is that?" and it was. I looked up at him and said, "You're George Carlin" he simply said, "Yes I am" and I said, "Good to meet you" shook his hand and went on my way.
As I said, we don’t get star struck...we just acknowledge and move on. That is why they come to visit and buy homes; there they can just be themselves.
